Pitot Tube and Diff. Pressure Transmitter Low Air Flow Measurement Applications

eyc-tech Pitot Tube and Diff. Pressure Transmitter - Low Air Flow Measurement Applications
The AFMP Average Flow Measuring Tube (Pitot tube) paired with a differential pressure transmitter is frequently used for airflow calculation. The pressure detection holes along the tube average the characteristics of fluid flow within the pipeline. In airflow systems, spatial constraints often prevent the provision of adequate straight pipe sections, leading to significant turbulence issues. The use of an average flow measuring tube can effectively mitigate measurement difficulties. Due to its precise measurement capabilities for air velocity and flow, along with its resistance to high temperatures, corrosion, and dust, it has become a key device in many industrial applications suitable for measuring small flow rates.
When combined with the PMM330 differential pressure transmitter, which employs a hot-wire type diff. pressure sensing technology, it offers high sensitivity under small differential pressures and low zero drift, with a minimum measurable value as low as 1 Pa. Additionally, the built-in square root function allows for the conversion of pressure differences into air velocities. This combination provides a high-precision solution for measuring air velocity and flow, especially suitable for precise measurements of small air velocities.
Low Air Velocity Application
Based on the table above, the PMM330 differential pressure transmitter combined with the AFMP average flow measuring tube can measure the minimum starting air velocity of 1 m/s with high precision at 2.0% F.S. The measurement error is minimal, making it particularly suitable for precise measurements in low air velocity environments. When measuring an airflow velocity of 1 m/s, the results measured by the standard component and the PMM330 with AFMP show minimal error. The measurement results across different test points are all within the specified standards, demonstrating the high precision and reliability of this setup in low air velocity environments. This combination is ideal for environments where precise control of airflow is required, such as in cleanrooms or laboratories, including chemical or biological safety labs. The combination of the average flow measuring tube and the differential pressure transmitter helps maintain stable low airflow, protecting the safety of personnel and ensuring the safety and quality of the experimental or production processes.
